Paradigm Class - Stroop-Spatial

Stroop-Spatial

The spatial Stroop effect demonstrates interference between the stimulus location with the location information in the stimuli. It is elicited when the direction of the arrow is incompatible with its spatial location. For example, subjects are presented with a word either to the right or left of a central fixation point. For congruent trials, subjects see either the word ‘right’ presented to the right of fixation, or the word ‘left’ presented to the left of fixation. For incongruent trials, subjects see either the word ‘right’ presented to the left of fixation or the word ‘left’ presented to the right of fixation. First: Shor, 1998 Most: Schmitz, et al. 2005
